Simon Cruz, Detective in the Special Investigations Division of the Chicago Police Department, suffers from horrible insomnia due to a vivid, recurring nightmare. A few months ago, Det. Cruz was on stakeout in Bucktown. He has no memory of the events of that night, and those pages of his journal are missing. In this chapter, Simon seeks to unravel the mysterious events that took place in that Bucktown alley. The only person he can fully trust, his former partner, Jenny, has problems of her own… problems Simon feels compelled to help her resolve by any means necessary…
