Work started as usual, Alison was there to greet me with my morning coffee, everyone was in normal spirits at the morning meeting. And then everything seemed to… get weird.
Later that morning, Aurora was working with some routine samples when she tripped and the sample shattered on the floor. She claimed that the sample jumped out of her hands, but that’s obviously impossible. She was probably just embarrassed that she dropped the sample. Somehow she managed to cut her hand on the broken dish. We wrapped it up, but she said she was fine, and was back to work a little while later.
Around lunch time, I went to check on a project I was working on, only to discover that several hours of preparation and work had been completed, but there were no notes to go along with it. I called everyone into the conference room to find out who had done the work. No one took credit, so I figured that someone didn’t want to admit to not keeping the notes.
The rest of the day passed pretty normally, after calling it a night I headed out to an upscale bar, had a couple drinks and headed home.
