Well, as they say, no good deed goes unpunished. After waking up, groggy and sore, I went into my living room to make a pot of coffee, only to find that Mindy and I had torn the room apart. I knew she was passionate, but this was a little ridiculous. Even the coffee maker was knocked over. Well, I started a pot and decided to go see what Mindy was up to, just as there was a knock at the door.

I threw on some pants and headed and opened her up, to find a swarthy looking fellow with a badge. “Great, now what?” I think to myself. He asks my name and if he can ask me a few question, right out of a cop show. I invite him in, and it turns out he’s actually a regular guy. He just wanted to go over my statement again, apparently, and make sure they didn’t miss anything. Apparently the gun belonged to a Federal Agent. What did I get myself into?

I recapped the whole story again, and when I mentioned Catalina Muroe’s name, he seemed to be a little surprised, although he hid it well. After that he wanted to know where he could find her, and more about her. I told him what little I could, but that I got the cold shoulder and a fake number.

As the detective was getting ready to go, he was kind enough to offer me an excuse to send Mindy packing, and he pulled out his phone to get my contact information. I couldn’t believe it, he had gotten one of those same phones I had. Coincidences happen, but that was too much. Detective Cruz offered to buy me lunch so we could have a chance to talk a little bit more about just what was going on…
